This past summer, Digitization Technician Concetta Barbera embarked on a Practicum project at the Library Company as part of her Library and Information Science master’s degree in Archives at Drexel University. During the 120 hours required for her Practicum, Concetta added 250 records to our map inventory, including almost 100 records for maps from the recently acquired McNeil Americana Collection. To create records, Concetta examined each map described its content, condition, and size, and included important bibliographic references. The Library Company plans to mount an exhibition of maps from the McNeil Americana Collection in the Fall of 2012.
