Christine Nelson manages the Library Company’s research fellowships program. Before joining the staff in 2021, she was the longtime Drue Heinz Curator of Literary and Historical Manuscripts at the Morgan Library & Museum, where she curated major exhibitions on the journal of Henry David Thoreau, the life of Charlotte Brontë, the history of diary keeping, and the origins of the song “Auld Lang Syne.” Her published work includes The Magic of Handwriting (TASCHEN, 2018), The Brontës: A Family Writes (Scala, 2016), and commentaries on The Little Prince and The Story of Babar (Folio Society, 2017 and 2020). She was a 2021 curator-in-residence at Canterbury Shaker Village, and her current research focuses on nineteenth-century Shaker women typographers.
