Makers of the crayons and drawing inks often used familiar utensils to cook the ingredients. This plate shows the recommended setting (Fig. 1) and equipment, including the spatula (Fig. 2) and ladle (Fig. 3) for stirring and collecting the mixture, and the crayon and ink stick molds (Figs. 4 & 5).
