For almost three centuries, the Library Company has relied on the generosity of individuals who have included the institution in their estate plans to help preserve it for future generations. Through bequests of collections and funds, those benefactors have helped make the institution what it is today—an internationally renowned repository of historical treasures available to all readers free of charge.
Today, your planned gift will not only contribute to the Library Company, it could also produce tax advantages and income for yourself or others. As a steward of our future, you will be included in the James Rush Society in honor of Dr. James Rush whose books and papers are an important part of our collection. Rush Society members are duly noted at Library Company Annual Meetings and other events and in Library Company publications.
Making a bequest to the Library Company is easy, does not affect assets or cash flow during your lifetime, and can be changed at any time. Bequests may remain private or be recognized through the James Rush Society.
Charitable Gift Annuities
A charitable gift annuity to the Library Company can earn you an income on the principal of your gift for life—an appealing alternative to a certificate of deposit on both financial and philanthropic grounds!
If you wish to retain income or to provide an income for someone else, would like to have your gift individually managed, and are interested in increasing your capacity to make a gift to the Library Company, then a trust may be the right choice for you.
We invite you to join the great benefactors of the Library Company’s past in shaping the future of this great institution. To find out more about the Library Company’s planned giving program, please contact the Development Office at email@example.com or 215-546-3181 ext. 136.
