The Library Company’s 2017 Juneteenth Freedom Seminar featured a lecture from Dr. Erica Armstrong Dunbar, our own Director of the Program in African American History and the Blue and Gold Distinguished Professor of Black American Studies and History at the University of Delaware. Guest enjoyed Dr. Dunbar’s presentation which centered on her newest book, Never Caught: The Washingtons’ Relentless Pursuit of Their Runaway Slave, Ona Judge and the young slave’s path to freedom.

Hosted at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, this program was live broadcast by WURD Radio and the host of “Did You Know?” Bryant Greene (owner of Always Best Care Philly and Delaware) and featured interviews with Library Company scholars and staff.
