Historical Happy Hour: A Glass of Rye with Nellie Bly

Tuesday, April 12th, at 7:00 pm

Virtual Event

Join us for a glimpse inside the 19th-century world of Nellie Bly, the pioneering investigative journalist, inventor, and world traveler. We’ll honor Bly with a riff on an Around the World cocktail—a trip she made in just 72 days! In anticipation of the Library Company’s upcoming Hearing Voices exhibition, we’ll also hear about the impact of Bly’s work on mental health care reform through her investigation of Blackwell’s Island Asylum.

Hosted by storyteller and mixologist Jacey Powers of Feminist Cocktail Hour. The ingredient list for our cocktail (or alternate mocktail) will be sent to registrants at least two weeks before the event.
