Assistant Conservator
Ruth, originally from the UK has resided in Philadelphia for the past 12 years, and joined the staff of the Library Company as Assistant Conservator in August of 2023. For eight years prior she worked in private practice repairing and conserving books and paper, serving a number of institutions in Philadelphia, as well as private clients. She holds postgraduate degrees from Goldsmiths College, (London, UK), and The University of Sunderland, while earning a BFA in Sculpture from Norwich, University of the Arts (UK).
Ruth is an active member of The Delaware Valley Chapter of the Guild of Bookworkers and has sat on the board as exhibition co-chair for the past nine years. She is also a practicing artist and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally.
