Print Department Welcomes Alison Van Denend
For the past month Alison Van Denend has been hard at work in the Print Department as our International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) Foundation summer curatorial intern. Alison completed her MA in Art History with a Certificate in Curatorial Studies from Rutgers this past May and comes to us with previous curatorial experience at the New-York Historical Society, the Montclair Art Museum, and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. In the Print Department Alison is inventorying uncataloged material and has begun creating catalog records for select genre prints, portraits, and landscape drawings and watercolors. She is assisting in processing the Joe Freedman Collection of Philadelphia Ephemera, an almost 900 item collection of ephemera, prints, manuscripts, and books and will be re-organizing our collection of World War I/One posters. Alison is also offering support for our reference services.
Her contributions to the Library Company’s blog so far can be seen at: and and will also be tweeting about her intern experience throughout the summer. We have no shortage of work for Alison to do, and we are very happy to have her!
