Visiting the Library Company of Philadelphia

The Library Company of Philadelphia Louis Lux-Sions and Harry Sions Exhibition Gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:00 am-4:45 pm.

All visitors are required to register at the front desk. Researchers will be asked to present a photo ID.

Researchers can work in the Library Company’s William H. Scheide Reading Room with an appointment during our business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am-4:45 pm. Researchers wishing to work with our graphic collections are requested to contact the Graphic Arts Department to schedule an appointment in its separate reading room which is open Monday through Thursday 9am-4:45pm..

The Library Company is located at 1314 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

We are located on Locust Street, between Broad Street and 13th Street in Center City Philadelphia, a few blocks from City Hall and one block east of the Academy of Music. There are several parking lots nearby.

Philadelphia is easily accessible by plane, train, or automobile. Amtrak service is frequent on the Northeast Corridor line between Washington and Boston. Most major airlines serve Philadelphia International Airport. SEPTA commuter trains, various limousine services, and taxis provide quick transportation from the airport to Center City or University City.
