Before Amanda Gorman, or Maya Angelou or Toni Morrison there was Phillis Wheatley–an enslaved colonial poet who wrote her way to freedom. Hear Wheatley’s remarkable story, while mixing up a wintery riff on a classic cocktail: The Poet’s Dream.
Hosted by storyteller and mixologist Jacey Powers of Feminist Cocktail Hour. The ingredient list for our cocktail (and mocktail) will be sent to registrants at least two weeks before the event.
