Live from the Morgan Room: Book Talk with Andrew Roberts, The Last King of America: The Misunderstood Reign of George III

Friday February 25th

Free virtual event begins at 12 noon

In-person ticketed event begins at 11:30 am

The Library Company invites you to join Philadelphia Club members and their guests for a presentation by noted historian and bestselling biographer Andrew Roberts on his latest book, The Last King of America: The Misunderstood Reign of George III (Viking, 2021). King George III has been ridiculed as a complete disaster who frittered away the colonies and went mad in his old age. The truth is much more nuanced and fascinating – and will completely change the way readers and historians view his reign and legacy.

The virtual lecture is free, but we are excited to be able to offer a limited number of tickets to the in-person event at the Philadelphia Club. The in-person event begins at 11:30 am and includes a wine reception, book-signing, and lunch for $68.50 per person. In-person guests may purchase Roberts’ book for an additional $20.

Co-sponsored by the Philadelphia Club, the American Philosophical Society, the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, and the Library Company of Philadelphia.
